About Me
Hello!
My name is Zoe, and I am the founder of
To The Stars and Back.

In addition to being a certified sleep consultant I am also a Registered Paediatric Nurse with over 11 years of experience. But my most important role of all is being a mummy to our beautiful little girl who is 5 years old.
Which is where my sleep interest journey began...
For the first 18 months of Esme’s life sleep was unheard of!
Esme had a rocky start to life spending some time in the Special Care Baby unit, following on to a cow’s milk protein allergy and reflux.
As you can imagine, she was in a lot of discomfort, and as a mother I wanted to do anything I could to fix it for her.
This affected her sleep. I would do anything I could to help her to sleep, which included long walks in the pram for the duration of her nap.
Long walks with her in the baby carrier so she was upright to let her rest.
This meant Esme was managing to get some sleep in the day, but I was continuously on the go.
I felt helpless and absolutely exhausted.
I would spend hours in the middle of the night researching on Pinterest and Google, routines for her age, wake windows, sleep strategies, the list was endless.
We would implement these and have a good ‘few nights’ then be back at square one again.
We eventually got to the stage where Esme would sleep in her own cot, she was happy and content to go to sleep and also napped well.
But at 18 months by the early hours of the morning, she would wake, sometimes for hours at a time, the only way she would get back to sleep was holding our hand through her cot.
I was back at work by this time so was doing what I could to allow getting as much sleep as possible, this resulted to a duvet on the floor in Esme’s room to get her back to sleep as quickly as possible, sometimes several times throughout the night.
One night I decided enough was enough and contacted a sleep consultant, we got to work right away and to say our lives were transformed would be an understatement!
Within a matter of days, Esme was happily sleeping through the night in her own bed, for 12 hours at a time.
12 hours!
Our sleep consultant taught us gentle sleep training methods without the need of 'crying it out’.
This resulted in our daughter having great sleep, she was also happier within herself. Which in turn enabled us as parents to have good quality sleep meaning we could function better, and enjoy quality family time.
I was finally able to be the parent I wanted to be, more energised…dare I say even excited for soft play!
From that moment on, I've had an interest in sleep, but also to support other families in the same situation we were, to find the light at the end of the tunnel, to get the sleep the whole family deserves!
In addition to my journey as a mother as mentioned, I have over 11 years of experience as a registered paediatric nurse, working with a diverse range of children, from premature babies in the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) all the way up lovely teenagers.
With past and continuing experience as a Paediatric nurse dualled with being an accredited baby and infant sleep consultant.
I am truly excited to support families on their own sleep journeys, helping to create peaceful nights for their little ones and ensuring that everyone can enjoy the restful sleep deserved.
